TMJ Management

TMD management deals with the treatment of TMJ disorders which includes painful joint, limited jaw movements, clicking, muscle spasms, orofacial pain and associated headaches. It is also interrelated with Myofunctional therapy, airway correction, and sleep issues.

There are a variety of treatment interventions for TMD management, often more than one to be done at the same time. The most common are non surgical approaches such as pain relief through medications, application of Oral Splints or Occlusal appliance to stabilize the joint , Physical therapy to strengthen jaw muscles, and counseling to understand the factors attributed to TMJ disorder in order to avoid them.
